V-4:
  1. An engine layout such that four cylinders are laid out in a 'V' formation. This allows the same smooth feel and displacement of an Inline Four, within narrower dimensions. However, crankshaft balancing becomes more difficult and cylinder heads must be separated and either dual cams or pushrods are required to actuate the lifters. Made POpular in the Honda Sabre, Magna, and Interceptor.

Valve:
  1. A POrt that opens and closes in order to allow fuel, Air, or exhaust to move only where and when desired. Generally actuated by either a pushrod and Rocker or an overhead cam in a Four Stroke engine or simply by air pressure as in the case of two stroke reed valves

Valve Cover:
  1. Obviously enough, the metal casing the covers the Valves on top of the cylinder head. Also called a Rocker Box, refering to the Rockers under the cover that actuate the valves in a pushrod-actuated Four Stroke engine
